Texell Named a Best Credit Union to Work For

Texell Credit Union has been named one of the 2019 Best Credit Unions to Work For by the Credit Union Journal. Texell was one of only four credit unions in Texas to make the national list — and the only credit union on the list between Dallas and San Antonio. The Credit Union Journal partnered with Best Companies Group to recognize credit unions that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees.

“Texell is committed to promoting a culture that attracts and retains world-class talent,” said Tony Hale, Texell’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We believe in cultivating personal and professional growth and challenging each team member to become a better, more successful version of themselves. Talented and engaged employees are the key to Texell’s continued success,” Hale concluded.

As part of the evaluation process, surveys were distributed to 100% of Texell’s team members. One employee stated “Texell has a unique and supportive culture. Hard effort is rewarded and creativity is encouraged. There is always mutual support and trust between employees and supervisors. Individual growth remains a top priority. Texell provides all of the tools and resources needed to succeed and takes the time to invest in all employees. It is challenging but extremely rewarding. We work hard but play hard as well!” Another employee noted “Texell is such a great company to work for! Not only does Texell truly care about their employees, they truly care about their members and their community!”

Determining the Best Credit Unions to Work For involves a two-step process. The first step consists of evaluating each participating credit union’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the best credit unions and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final ranking.
